What we collect and why

  • Free AI visibility check: your business name, location or website, and email — saved so we can run the check and email you the results. We keep a scrambled copy of your email and internet address to limit free checks to one a month.
  • "Book a call" and "call me" requests: your name, business, phone, email and note — emailed to Nate so he can reply. Not kept in our database.
  • Accounts and subscriptions: your login and subscription details. Stripe handles card payments; we never see your full card number.
  • Text messages: if you opt in to texts with us, your number and messages are kept in our messaging system.
  • Businesses we contact: we buy business contact details (business name, phone, email, website, public listing details) from list providers. We keep them in our database and our CRM (GoHighLevel). Our emails use standard open and click tracking so we know whether they were read. We also gather public business information — Google Maps listings and reviews, Yelp, social media pages, website and domain details (some through Apify, a data-collection service, and DataForSEO, a search-data service) and public government records (such as U.S. Census, State of Wisconsin, Dane County, City of Madison and city council records) — and we check how AI tools describe those businesses, which can become a private report for the business. Some Dane County home-services businesses are listed on our local directory, MadisonSubs.com.

Who receives your information (only to do work for us)

  • To run checks, we send the business name and location (and, for paying customers, the website) to AI services: Perplexity, Google Gemini, OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude). We use Firecrawl to read websites and Google (Places, Maps and PageSpeed) for listing and speed data. We don't send them your email. For businesses we reach out to, Perplexity and Firecrawl may also help us find public business contact details.
  • Vercel hosts the site and keeps server logs. Supabase stores our data and logins. Resend sends our results and receipt emails and some outreach emails. Stripe takes payments. GoHighLevel runs our phone, texting, CRM, outreach email and our email inbox (sent through Mailgun). Apify runs our public-information collection. Google Fonts loads the site's fonts, which shares your internet address with Google.

Text messages and your mobile number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We don't sell your information.

Your choices. To stop our emails, use the unsubscribe link. To stop texts, reply STOP. We honour opt-outs and keep a scrambled marker of your email so we never contact you again by mistake. To see or correct what we hold, email or call us.

Changes. We update this page and its date when our practices change.
